Tamika T. Taylor

Tamika Tonijetta Taylor of Norfolk, Virginia, passed away on March 15,20244 after a long battle with diabetes. She was born on December 6,1978 to Delvie Taylor and David Taylor with a bonus stepdad L.C. Jackson in Newark, New Jersey. In 1997 Tamika relocated to Norfolk Virginia from Irvington, New Jersey. She had a 10-year career in healthcare.

In 2016, Tamika met Samuel Reid in Norfolk, Virginia. Together, they had one child Samir A Reid. Tamika enjoyed spending time with family, singing, dancing, and working to take care of her family.

Tamika was predeceased by grandparents Tony Mc’clean, Jessie Boyd, David Taylor Sr. and Onnis Taylor. Tamika is survived by husband Samuel Reid her four children Kareema Taylor, Karizma Taylor, Iyanni Taylor and Samir Reid. Her parents Delvie Taylor and David Taylor. Her four grandchildren Ja’Niyah Taylor, Kyemahni Taylor, Khamari Taylor and Journee Taylor. She also leaves behind nine siblings Kamonte Stover, Quarmal Stover, Walkeen Taylor, Jacklyn Dorsey, Jacquetta Dorsey, Vercell Jackson, Brandon Collins, Davion Taylor, Shaniya Taylor. She leaves behind two sister- like nieces her namesake Tonijetta Stover and Wahkeema Taylor and three stepsisters Sabrina Relaford, Tasha Relaford, Andrew Releford. Tamika also leaves behind a tribe of aunts, uncles, nephews’ nieces, God children and a great aunt Rosa Wesley and a God father Tony Muhammed

Tamika was loved and adored by all that came into her presence amongst those who had the privilege of making her who she was and the legacy she left was her “special uncles” Danny Boyd and Bernis Boyd. “Special friends” Johnny Givens Yvette Nelson and Frieda Miles. I am quite sure there are so many more not mentioned in these pages, but you also played a special part in her heart and your presence here today is a demonstration of that love.
