September 16, 2021 at 4:05 pmTameka was my preceptor when I started my journey as a Admin Assistant on 7K at Norfolk General.
While I transferred to another facility in the system, we would cross paths every so often.
She will be missed and I will keep both her biological and Norfolk General family in my thoughts and prayers.

September 13, 2021 at 4:14 pmExtending my condolences to the daughter and family of Tamekia. May God continue to be a source of comfort and strength to you during this time. Tamekia had such a sweet spirit at work. Whenever I saw her, she was always uplifting through some of her challenging days. I recalled going in her office chatting on how she was doing, and how she remained positive.. She was a jewel working in the Heart Hospital. Although gone, her memories will live on in each of us. Gone but not forgotten. Blessings and love to you family….

September 17, 2021 at 10:15 amSo very sad to see this. I always loved interacting with Tamekia at Norfolk General, and even though we might go months between occasions to speak, we would pick right back up with friendly conversation. She put a smile on my face. She always remembered when I was pregnant (20 years ago!) and would ask me how my “baby” is. She was a gem and will be missed greatly by many.

September 17, 2021 at 2:06 pmI’m so so sorry to learn of Tamekia’s passing. I knew her and her sister Dawnta from Sentara. Tamekia was such a loving, kind and friendly soul, she’ll truly be missed. I loved getting a chance to catch up with her and share updates
I pray that you and the family find comfort, strength, peace and compassion during this most difficult time. I pray that your tears soon turn to smiles as you keep her with you through all of the stories that I know you have. I hope you find comfort in knowing that we are not permanently separated from our loved ones, it’s just a temporary separation, we’ll all be together again one day

September 25, 2021 at 8:03 amPlease accept my sincerest sympathy on your lost of Tamekia. It has been a long time since I last seen her, I recall visiting when Tamekia was school age. She would always had that loving healthy smile, even thou she is not physical here that smile will always live on in her daughter. I was impressed with how strong Tamekia’s daughter was when I met her during her mother loss. She displayed a wonderful sense of humor and strength that is a part of her grandfather Willie, whom I known for over 30 years. God bless the Edwards family; this is a time to bond don’t allow the devil to pull you apart in your time of sorrow.
