Sylvia Perry

Family and friends we are gathered together to praise God and bid farewell to Sylvia Perry. The daughter of the late Jessie and Marie W. Perry. She was born June 28, 1952 in Portsmouth, VA, she transitioned at Chesapeake General Hospital. A native of Portsmouth, VA Sylvia was a graduate of I.C. Norcom High School class of 1971 (Go Greyhounds). She continued her education at Norfolk State University. Sylvia then worked 40 years as a Supply Clerk for Alutiiq where she retired.

Sylvia’s loved for children continue throughout her lifetime. She could always be counted on during financial crisis. She
accepted Christ and was baptized. Sylvia loved her church family, Faith Deliverance Christian Center Miracle on 26th
Street. She loved Blue Crabs. Sylvia was predeceased by her parents, Jessie & Marie W. Perry; three brothers; Wille Whitehead, Jessie Jr., and James Perry; three sisters; Brenda Hagins, Linda Perry and Rita Barbine. Sylvia leaves to cherish her memory; one brother, Kevin Perry of Washington DC and one sister, Francez (Calvin), Nathaniel of Baltimore MD, and a host of extended family, nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces and uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

    My sincere condolences to the family. In times like these, there is so much we don’t understand, so all that is left is to hold on tight to the Father who does. He will give us the strength to get through these stressful time. Pray to God for strength.(Psalm 55:22) May you all find comfort in the memories you have of Sylvia.
