Sylvia Jean Pierce was born on March 23, 1951, to Virginia Brown and James Lewis in Norfolk Virgina. Due to natural causes, Sylvia went to be with the Lord on November 5th, 2023. Sylvia was 72 years young. Sylvia attended Norfolk and Virginia Beach Public schools. She worked many odd jobs, including working at Naval Base Norfolk in housekeeping and guest services.
Sylvia was predeceased by her parents, Virginia Brown and James Lewis; her brother, James Brown; and daughter, Nicole Lovewine.
Sylvia Jean is survived by one daughter, Tina Mae Hines (her fiance, Melvin) and four sons: Albert Hines (Kim), Isreal Lovewine, Andre Lovewine (Tasha), and Lamont Hines; and three sisters: Joanne Hines, Dorothy Brown and Joyce Langley. Sylvia also leaves behind 21 grandchildren and 32 Great Grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins with whom she shared a close bond.
Sylvia Jean had a heart that was made of gold. She was non-judgmental and accepted anyone and everyone as they were. Her doors were always open, and she never turned anyone away. She had the ability to see the best parts of people, even when they were at their worst. She had a sense of humor that everyone loved. Sylvia Jean was brave, confident and fierce. She had 3 loves in her life: the love of her family, playing cards, and last but definitely not least BINGO! In the words of Sylvia Jean, “I will and always will be the bomb!”
