On Thursday, June 27, 2019 Steve Baptiste a resident of Norfolk, Virginia also known as “Bethal” departed this life in Richmond, Virginia. He was born in St. Thomas, USVI on February 28, 1965 to the late Edith Benjamin and Artwel Baptiste.
Steve accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. He graduated from Laurinburg Institute in North Carolina. He was employed with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Examination Station in Chesapeake, Virginia. Steve was a dedicated worker at his current job, and he was liked by many of his coworkers for his commitment.
Steve was a caring and protective brother to his only sister, Loren Aaron Johnson, that he loved dearly. Steve was a kind hearted and giving person to many friends and family, especially his niece and nephew that he saw as his very own kids. He was a big sports fan of
basketball and football, and those who knew him well, knew he was a big Ravens fan. Steve took the time out to send GM text to many friends and family. Let’s remember that GM not only means Good Morning but God Mercies. These GM texts will be truely missed by many.
He leaves to cherish his memory, one sister, Loren Aaron Johnson (Morris) of Suffolk, Virginia; his niece and nephew, Moriah and Micahi Johnson; and many family members and friends, too numerous to mention.
He was truly loved and will be missed by many. Thank you all for attending his Celebration of Life Ceremony.
