Stephen Andrew Smith, Jr.

Sunrise: September 20, 1992

Sunset: May 21, 2019

Stephen Andrew Smith, Jr., affectionately known as “Drew” was born on September 20, 1992, in Norfolk, Virginia to parents Stephen Smith Sr., of Columbus Ohio and Wanda Smith of Norfolk Virginia. Andrew was called home on May 21, 2019. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Estalene Smith of Columbus Ohio and; maternal grandfather James DeLoatch, Jr. of Norfolk, Virginia. Stephen graduated from Great Bridge High School in June of 2010. Soon after graduation he moved to Columbus, Ohio where he attended Columbus State Community College. He was employed with Superior Die Tool & Machine Company as a Machinist.

Stephen was an avid lover of music and moved to Ohio to pursue his goal of producing music. He evolved quickly, developing his own unique style into being a well sought after producer, “Drew BNDZ”. He blessed many with his musical skills and was a pillar in the community. If you wanted to see Stephen light-up, you only had to ask about his production of beats. It quickly became his passion and drive to succeed in the music industry.

His gifts and intellectual prosperity will live on forever as he truly was the perfect gift that keeps giving throughout a lifetime. Stephen was a phenomenal son who loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. His kindness, laid-back demeanor and smile made him easy to love. One of the most pleasant things about Stephen was his beautiful and infectious smile that brightened any room. His memory will forever be etched in our hearts and minds.

Stephen is survived by his loving and devoted parents Stephen Smith, Sr. and Wanda Smith whom he affectionately called “Momma”; three brothers, Darrius DeLoatch of Norfolk Virginia; Stephon Jackson and Ellis Bowser of Columbus, Ohio; paternal grandfather Paul L. Smith, Sr. of Columbus, Ohio; maternal grandmother, Barbara DeLoatch of Chesapeake, Virginia; six uncles, seven aunts and a host of cousins and friends.

To my Sister Wanda and Nephew Darrius,
It’s so hard to believe that Drew isn’t here anymore, but the memories that he left each person that know him will always put a smile on our faces. John 5:28 & 29a tells us “ Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice it come out.” I look forward to seeing him again.
