Stephanie Ardale Mungo, age 60, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 25, 2021.
Stephanie was born in Monroe, Louisiana on December 7, 1960 to Charlie and Ethel Thompson. She graduated in 1978 from McClymonds High School in Oakland, California and then attended UC Santa Barbara (UCSB) where she completed a B.S. degree in Business Economics.
Stephanie is survived by her husband, Derek Mungo, one daughter, Sherie Mungo, her mother, Ethel Raye Thomspon, and a host of relatives and friends.
A wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, auntie, and friend, Stephanie was first and foremost a faithful woman of God. She lived out her faith by loving, serving, teaching, discipling, and encouraging others to cultivate a personal relationship with Jesus. She also deeply understood the necessity of being a true worshipper and consistently “fought the good fight of faith” in order to “lay hold of eternal life” (I Timothy 6:12).

October 15, 2021 at 4:18 pmMr. Mungo and Sherie, I was so sad to hear of the lost of such a beautiful person and soul. I worked with both Mrs. Mungo and Sherie at Poplar Halls as a first and second grade teacher. Mrs. Mungo poured everything she had into helping the kids and teachers and always did it with the most amazing smile and loving spirit. She will truly be missed. You have my deepest condolences and prayers.
