On Saturday December 22, 2018 our Heavenly Father welcome His son, Stanley Thomas Sr. home from this life peacefully. Stanley Thomas Sr., (85) was born on March 1, 1933 in South Hampton County, Virginia to the late Theodore and Ethel Thomas.
He met his soulmate, Bessie Lee Edwards. They were married on December 19, 1954 and had three children. He served his country in the United States Army, then retired from railroad service and longshoreman after 30 years. He had several nicknames; to some he was Pee Wee, and to others he was Brother Stan, but it was a joy to just be called his friend.
His favorite hobbies were working on cars or fixing anything that was broken. He enjoyed motorcycles. His Honda Gold Wing and Harley Davidson were two of his favorites. He was neat, clean and everything was always put back in order just like he had it, nothing was ever out of place. Sitting on his front porch with family and friends gave him great joy. He was a member of the First Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving wife Bessie Thomas; two daughters, Etta Coleman, Betsy Thomas and one son, Stanley Thomas Jr. (Arthurine Pearl), out of five siblings he leaves a sister Ophelia Middleton and a brother, Andrew Thomas, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
