Shirley Foots

Perhaps she thought of all those she loved and decided she wanted to see, so she took a journey to the other side as happy
as she could be. Shirley Darden Foots of the 2200 block of Lloyd Drive, Chesapeake, Virginia softly and sweetly passed
away on August 23, 2018. She was born on July 28, 1937 to the late Claudie and Annie Mae Darden. She graduated from
Booker T. Washington High School.
Shirley loved and collected all kinds of dolls and she adorned her home with them as they were quite visible. She was also
an avid pet lover. Her home was always welcome to her dogs, ferrets and turtles. She truly enjoyed spending quality time with
her family. She was employed with Farm Fresh Supermarkets in the bakery department. She loved to bake and decorate
birthday cakes for her children, grandchildren, nephews and nieces and they truly looked forward to her magnificent skills
with the cakes she made especially for them.
Shirley is preceded in death by her loving daughter, Monica Foots Upsher; sister, Joyce Norene Crump and her loving grandson, Cedric Towe, whom she loved from the depths of her heart. Shirley leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Pernell Foots; daughter, Kimberly (Charles) Towe; granddaughter, Kendra Towe; grandsons, DeAndre Towe, Isiah Upsher, Moses and David Upsher; sisters, Gail Peters and Barbara Jernigan; uncle, Bennie Darden; brother-in-law, Melvin Foots; sisters-in-law, Violet Crawford and Doris Austin and a host of cousins, ephews, nieces and other family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her loved ones and friends.
