It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley A. Mobley-Hunt, affectionately known as Keisha, who left this world on July 11, 2024, at the age of 37. Shirley was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt, granddaughter, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.
Shirley was born on May 18, 1987, to Johnny Mobley Jr. and Michelle R. Mobley. She was raised with love and care in Norfolk, VA, where she developed her vibrant and caring personality. Her stepfather, Jasper Dickens (“Jazz”), played an integral role in her upbringing, offering guidance and support throughout her life. She was also deeply loved by her grandmother, Shirley A. Baptiste, who played a significant role in her life and upbringing.
Shirley’s greatest pride and joy were her children, Silas Hunt Jr., 17, and Ziqarious Hunt, 15. She dedicated her life to providing them with a nurturing and loving home. Shirley’s love for her children was evident in everything she did, from her encouraging words to her unwavering support for their dreams and ambitions.
As a sister, Shirley shared a special bond with her sister, Darneshia Robinson. Their relationship was filled with laughter, shared secrets, and an unbreakable bond of love. Shirley was also a cherished aunt to her nieces and nephews: Dahnya R., William R., Acari R., Kuroc S., Kwalyti S., and Chastity S. She played an essential role in their lives, offering wisdom, love, and endless support.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Silas R. Hunt, whose memory she always held close to her heart. Her love for him was a testament to her nurturing spirit and deep family values.
Throughout her life, Shirley was known for her kindness, generosity, and infectious smile. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel special and loved. Her home was a haven for family gatherings, filled with laughter, warmth, and the delicious aroma of her home-cooked meals. She had a talent for bringing people together and creating lasting memories.
Shirley was a dedicated member of her community, always willing to lend a helping hand. Her compassion and empathy extended beyond her family to friends and neighbors, who often turned to her in times of need. She was a beacon of hope and a source of strength for many.
Shirley leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory. Her legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
As we say goodbye to Shirley, let us remember the beautiful moments we shared with her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her loved ones, and her legacy will be carried forward by her children and family. Shirley, your light will continue to shine, and you will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know you.
**Rest in peace, Shirley. Your love, laughter, and kindness will forever be remembered and cherished.**

July 23, 2024 at 3:23 pmThis was a great description of the beautiful spirit we called Lil Shirley. As I told you I know you are at peace with your “Sweet Booty”. I miss you so but I know that they suffer and pain is over. Now you can truly be the angel you’ve always been. I know I’ll see your beautiful face again. And know YOU KICKED CANCER’S ASS. A FIGHTER TO THE VERY LAST BREATH.
