On Monday, November 11, 2024, Shawnte Nichole Chandler transitioned from this earthly realm into eternal peace at the age of 46 years, surrounded by loved ones. Shawnte was predeceased in death by her Paternal Grandparents Ida M. Jiggetts (Grandmother), James D. Jiggetts (Grandfather), Maternal Grandparents Geraldine E. Dent (Grandmother), Kever H. Dent (Grandfather).
Shawnte had several alias names from her grandparents, Charlotte-Kay (Great Grandad Beckett), Sharon-tae (Paternal Grandad Jiggetts), and just Shawn by many who knew her. She was well-loved by anyone who came in contact with her because of her infectious laugh, along with that beautiful smile and that pleasing personality to go with it. She took pride in making everyone feel welcome, loved, and comfortable in her presence. Shawnte enjoyed hosting family events such as birthday gatherings, weddings, and all holiday events. She was always willing to help the homeless by providing meals from her home and taking her sons out to serve people she came into contact with.
The Commanders was her favorite sports team, and she loved to boast to friends and family, especially her brother or sons, that they were the best team right now! Before Shawnte was medically unable to work, she was employed by Cox Communications for 15 years. After her condition improved, her last employer was A-1 Heating and Cooling in Virginia Beach, VA.
Shawnte is survived by her two Sons, Marquis D. Stepney and Jayden A. Chandler, Chesapeake, VA, Father, Anthony J. Jiggetts, Mother Sharon R. Jiggetts, Brother Anthony L. Jiggetts (Shanika), Shamar L. Jiggetts, Jamir J. Jiggetts, Nephews, and Skylar R. Jiggetts, Niece. Shawnte is surrounded by other family members, such as a host of Uncles, Aunts, Cousins (The Pink Room Reunion), and In-laws, including her best friends Tameka and Lewis Strong. She is also survived by Khari Chandler and a host of other friends and relatives.
