Sharon L. Easter- Holley

Sunrise March 7, 1956 – Sunset August 10, 2019

Sharon L. Easter-Holley was surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Norfolk Sentara Heart Hospital as she transitioned into eternal rest. Sharon was the eldest daughter, born to Roman and Barbara Easter on March 7, 1956 in Norfolk, Virginia.  She is predeceased by her father Roman Easter Sr.

Sharon graduated from Granby High School (Class of 1974). She continued her education at the DePaul Hospital School of Radiological Technology in Norfolk, Virginia. Upon graduation, she was employed for a brief time at Chesapeake General Hospital and continued her career at Norfolk Community Hospital until the facility closed in 1998. Sharon then became a part of the Sentara Health Corporation where she worked until her retirement in 2016.

Cherishing her memory are her loving mother, Barbara L. Easter and son, Travis Jordan Easter, both of whom she was a loving and devoted caretaker; brother, Roman Easter Jr.; sisters Donna Easter-Harrison and Tracey Roberta Holmes; brother-in-law, Dale Harrison; god sister, Joan Garrett; special friend of 50 yrs., Helyn Epps Nixon and a host of relatives and friends.

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.  (2 Timothy 4:6-8)

I just recently heard of Sharon’s passing, from her former husband, K.L. Holley, who was a co-worker of mine, and, through whom I met and enjoyed friendship with Sharon and him. I will cherish the memories of Sharon, Kenny and I attending music festivals together — especially Jazz. Deepest condolences to Travis; her Easter Family and Holley Family. ~ Althea Hinds-Catlett (formerly, Althea Henry) – March, 2020
