It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Sha’Quana Deborah Jordan announces her tragic passing on February 5, 2025, at the age of 30. She was born on September 19, 1994, in Norfolk, Virginia.
Sha’Quana completed the Commonwealth Challenge, graduated from Deep Creek High School, by earning her GED. She later pursued the Pharmacy Tech program at Job Corps. Additionally, she obtained the Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) certificate through the Chesapeake Adult Learning Center. A dedicated caregiver, Sha’Quana took great pride in providing compassionate care to her clients. She was known for her infectious presence, with a smile and laugh that could light up even the darkest room. She cared deeply for everyone she encountered, from the small children she would pack into her car for a day out or a sleepover—simply because she believed every child deserves joyful experiences. For her friends she was often the backbone, a warm hug, and a shoulder to cry on. Truly selfless, she would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. Though we grieve her passing, we take comfort in the promise of eternal life and knowing she is now at peace with the Lord.
She was loved deeply by many and was predeceased by her mother, Catrina Jordan; great-grandparents, Georgianna and Robert Lawrence, Sophie and Leroy Jordan, and paternal grandparent, Shelby Duncan (Detroit, Michigan).
Sha’Quana is survived by her father, Anthony Ledbetter and stepmother, Dolores Ledbetter; maternal grandmother, Deborah Ann Stovall Gainey (Kenneth Gainey); paternal grandparent, Mary Duncan (Detroit, Michigan) and Judith Gabriel (Nova Scotia, Canada). Sha’Quana lived a life filled with faith, everlasting love, and kindness, leaving behind a smile that will forever be imprinted on our hearts. She was a devoted and remarkable mother to her children, King and Loyal, and now joins her beloved twins, Major, Prince, and Baby Jordan, in heaven. She was an outstanding sister to Obadiah (Nova Scotia, Canada), Tiara (Norfolk, Virginia), Tamika (deceased), Jasmine (Norfolk, VA), Imani, and Shailoam (deceased) (Chesapeake, Virginia). She also shared a special bond with her late sister, La’Quoya. Sha’Quana will be missed by all her family and friends, from Virginia in the United States to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. She is survived by her maternal aunt, Shantell; maternal uncles, Joe, Isaiah, and Uri; paternal uncles, George and the late John; and paternal aunts, Tracy, Katherine (Erick Armsted), Stacey (deceased), and Shelly. She was also cherished by Aunt Leotra, Aunt Terreia (Derek), Aunt Leah (Nathan), Great-Aunt Joan, and Great-Aunt Joyce. Her nieces and nephews include Tiana, Allan Jr., Trey, Marquise Jr., Omari, and Camiya. Her cousins include the late Damita, Lorelle, Laurice (Vanessa), and Derreia. As we celebrate her life, we honor the way she celebrated all of us—bringing joy to every occasion, from Virginia to Nova Scotia, Canada.
