Born in Norfolk, VA, on June 17, 1963, and earned his wings on December 7, 2024. His mother, Shirley Williams, stepfather, William Williams, and brother, Ricky Miles, predeceased him.
Samuel, affectionately known as Sam, was a passionate Pittsburgh Steelers fan who loved his family dearly. His warm and infectious smile could light up any room and bring joy to all those around him.
Samuel was an optimistic, genuine, loving, and God-fearing man who touched the hearts of everyone he encountered. He was full of hopes, dreams, and aspirations, and his outspoken and charismatic nature made him unforgettable.
He firmly believed in the value of life—measuring it by the quality of one’s years rather than the number of years in one’s life. Though his time with us was too short, his life was meaningful. Now, he rests where the streets are paved with gold, and pain is no more.
Despite enduring the hardships of a lengthy prison sentence, Sam emerged with a resilient spirit, eager to rebuild his life and reconnect with loved ones. He leaves a legacy of strength, determination, and a profound belief in second chances, a testament to his unwavering hope even in adversity.
Samuel is survived by his daughter, Dekida Frone; his son, Antwoine Knight; four grandsons, Legend Hines, Jeremiah Knight, Amir Knight, and Karmello Knight; two granddaughters, Inphiniti Knight and Kamilla Knight; two sisters, Rosetta Roberson, and Evette Cheatham; one brother, Abdul-Qaadir Bakari-Muhammad (formerly William Miles, Jr.); and the family wishes to acknowledge the support of his dear friend, Beverly Davis, who was by his side until the end; and a host of loving family members and friends.
“There are no goodbyes for me. Wherever you are, you will always be in my heart.”
