Samson Smith passed away peacefully at home on October 18, 2018 surrounded by his family. Sam was born in Enterprise, Alabama, raised in Buffalo, NY and lived in Virginia Beach, VA until his death. Sam continued to work
for the Navy (Fleet Force Command) after serving 23 years in the United States Navy.

He is predeceased by his first wife, Shirley A. Smith and father, Joseph James Smith. Samson is survived by his wife,
Bernice V. Smith; mother, Ettie Lee Smith; son, Samson Andre Smith; daughters, Tiama L. Smith and Raquel R. Smith; 4 grandchildren, Aiden M. Smith, Andrew E. Smith, Anna R. Smith and Luna R. Smith; brother, Joseph Lee Smith (Lois) of Buffalo, NY; sisters, Carrie Eaton of Buffalo, NY, Linda Eaton (Bobbie) of Buffalo, NY, Patricia Jones (Claude) of Buffalo, NY and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Sam had a very close relationship with his coworkers, they were family to him and his wife, they have supported them during their journey and beyond.
