God saw you getting tired, a cure not meant to be,
So, He wrapped His arms around you and whispered, “Come to Me.”
With tearful eyes, we watched you and saw you pass away,
Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.
On Wednesday, July 10, 2024, the gates of Heaven opened and welcomed home Sally “Renee” Jenkins. Renee was born on June 29, 1957, in Norfolk, Virginia, to the late Frank Thomas Claud Sr. and Oressa Fenner Claud. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, William Jenkins, her parents, and one brother, Frank Thomas Claud Jr. (Flat Top).
Renee attended Norfolk Public Schools and was a butcher at Be-Lo Supermarket. In the Meat Department, she provided exceptional customer service, addressing customer needs and offering personalized product suggestions. She ensured the safe storage of products, carefully loading and unloading items from distribution trucks. Additionally, Renee handled product packaging, price labeling, and quality inspection, while efficiently managing various administrative and clerical tasks.
Renee had a shining and unbreakable spirit that would fill the room; everyone knew and enjoyed her presence. She loved hosting family events, traveling, music, and dancing. Often, she was the life of the party! Family and friends greatly appreciated the many celebrations Renee and William hosted, including holiday gatherings and Superbowl parties. They also enjoyed traveling with family on cruises and road trips to explore new places.
Renee was a devoted caregiver to her family, always cooking delicious meals and eagerly joining her grandchildren on various adventures. She cherished attending their extracurricular activities, such as cheerleading, football, and band, fully supporting and celebrating their passions.
Renee leaves to cherish her memory two sons, William Shawn Claud and Deonte Lemont Jenkins, both of Norfolk, VA; three grandchildren, Noah, Tiffany, and Trinity, all of Norfolk, VA; two sisters, Darlene Johnson of Chesapeake, VA, and Subrina Brackett (James) of Portsmouth, VA; three brothers, Dwayne Jones of Chesapeake, VA, Eric Claud (Teresa) of Williamsburg, VA, and Rondell Claud (Toni) of Ellicott City, MD; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
