Sabrina Louise Butler departed this Earth on November 4, 2022.
Sabrina was born to William and Carrie Hughes in Norfolk, Va. on March 22, 1965. She is predeceased by her husband, Nathaniel Butler Jr., her father William Lewis Hughes and her sister Lathesia Thompson.
She spent most of her years in the Berkley area of Norfolk and graduated from Lake Taylor Senior High School. After graduating, she went on to work as a commercial driver for many well-known companies including HRSD and HRT.
Shortly after high school she married Nathaniel Butler Jr., the love of her life and they shared 34 years of love and marriage before his death.
Sabrina was affectionally known as Brin Brin by her close family and friends. Later in life she was known by her additional family, the Butlers, as Ms. Pretty. She was big on family love and togetherness. She could be seen at every family function singing and giving joy and laughter to those around her. She always called herself a “chair dancer” after only 5 minutes of dancing but always kept the party going. She was known in the neighborhood as the no nonsense loving mother figure. One of her favorite sayings was “I’m in love with love”, and she spread love everywhere she went in her own unique way. She was the perfect mixture of hard and attentive love that her children and grandchildren’s friends needed and respected.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her two children Natasha Butler and Nathaniel Butler. Her mother, Carrie Joyce Hughes, and 3 siblings Pamela White (Keith), Elizabeth Williams (William), and Nicole Bragg (Quintin). She also leaves behind 4 grandchildren, KeAjia Spratley, DeAndre Spratley, Nyema Spratley and Z’Niyah Boone. One great grandchild Kae’LaniSpratley, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
