Ruth Levonia Kinchen Reed was born to Victoria Blair Kinchen and Willie Kinchen on June 28,1933.in Brunswick County, Lawrenceville, Virginia. She attended Brooks Elementary School St. Paul High School and Norfolk State.
She also attended Valise Beauty College where she became an instructor and beauty operator for thirty-seven years. Ruth was a member of Antioch Baptist Church for fifty plus
years during this time she served on the Missionary Boar, Beautification Ministry, Visitor and Hostess Ministry. She was also a former member of Norfolk Temple One-a and prayer band at Franklin Arms.
She was preceded in death by a loving mother, Ella Victoria Kinchen and Father Willie Kinchen and a grandson Freddie Lee known as little Fred.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Elsie Thomas (Alvin); son, Fred E. Clary Jr; five grandchildren, Lavonia Singleton-Horton (Greg), Antoine Hoggard, Emanuel Thomas, Star Clary, Creshetta; Laquoia Singleton, Christopher, Quincy, Fred Shawn and star; six great grandchildren; three special cousins, Mary Graves, Rebecca Legget, and Mable Wynn; special friends, Marion Palmer, Barbara and bobby Black, Felix and Liz Sivells.
