Mrs. Ruth Ellen Turner Freeman took her last steps on the Kings Highway, August 6, 2019. She was born in North Hampton County, Virginia to the late Mrs. Stachia Turner and Mr. Edward Turner on July 6, 1925. She worked for Norfolk City School Board as a cafeteria manager for 32 years. She was a member of many organizations- Red Hatters and Silver Strands and loved traveling. She was an usher at 1st Baptist Church Crestwood and she has been a loyal member since 1950.
She leaves to celebrate and cherish her memory, two daughters Barbara Freeman Brown (Chesapeake), Faye Freeman Smith (Illinois) and 1 son Wilber Wright (Norfolk). Numerous grand and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her husband James Freeman and son James Wright, Sr, seven sisters and three brothers.
