Early Tuesday morning, March 25, 2025, God gently closed the eyes of his humble servant, Russell Pullum. Triumphantly, he transitioned into the blessed presence of God.

Russell Pullum was born March 8, 1941, in Portsmouth, VA to the late John Wesley and Bessie Pullum. He was educated in Portsmouth Public Schools. Russell worked at Newport News Shipyard as a painter. He was a faithful member of New Light Church in Chesapeake, VA, where he served as an Usher and greeter and served on the Men’s Ministry until his health declined.

Russell loved to dress in suits of all colors. He loved to be well-dressed. He always had a smile on his face.

He leaves to cherish his memory four children, Amanda Jennings (Michael), Russell Pullum, Jr. (Charlene), Michelle Pullum, and Antonio Woodson; two sisters, Sarah Long of Maryland and Constance Smith of Connecticut. Five grandchildren, Aaron Jennings, Isaiah Jennings, Nigel Pullum, Jonathan Pullum, and Nina Pullum; three great-grandchildren, Amaré Branch, Breylan Wattford and Sophie-Jo Pullum; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Russell was loved very much and will truly be missed.
