Rupert Rixford Batson, 82 years, born in Barbados, known to many of his peers as “Puff or Benley”. He passed away peacefully Monday, November 16, 2020. He resided in U.S for over 50 years. Rupert worked in the hotel industry and was an avid reader and enjoyed watching westerns, studying the bible. He was very determined man. One of his many great traits was hard working ethics; this is something he passed down to all his children and grandchildren. He wanted the best for all of them.
Even in his 70’s he decided to go back to school. He could make friendship anywhere he went, just by his welcoming smile and politeness. Everyone who knew him would tell you how he would always have great conversations with them and kept you smiling and laughing.

Rupert love his biggest virtue, the abundance of his care and love for his family will always be with us. He wanted the best for his family and made sure he was there for them at any moment even if it was to give his last dollar. He like spending time with his family and friends and he was loved by all. Everything he did was to make sure his family had a better life. Rupert is survived by his sons, Anthony Alleyne and Trevor Thomas; daughters, Roslyn Thomas and Jan Thomas; granddaughters, Edyth Green, Felicia Mitchell, Shoniqua Alleyne and Arianna Alleyne; eight great grandchildren. He will be missed dearly and fondly by his only sister, Hadassah Pollard, whose pet name for him was “Prince”; his brother-in-law, Ellison; his nephew, Edmond and his wife, Marilyn who always made his favorite “bakes” also Marilyn’s son, Dominic who loved him dearly. He was the brother of the late Oswald Batson; Uncle of Linda Beckles, Shirlene, Michelle, Marsha, Audrea, Mango Ann, Lawrence of Fredrick Knight of Thickets Land St. Phillip, all in Barbados relatives of the Inniss family of Eastpoint, St. Phillip; the Butcher  amily of Blades Hill, St. Phillip; the Wiltshire and Trotman family of Merrick St. Phillip and a host of other family and friends. All of us have many pleasant memories of him and the many jokes we shared together. We will miss calling him and sharing memories of our life together growing up. We look forward to seeing him in paradise.
