Rosa Lee Blunt

Sunrise: May 31, 1927

Sunset: April 16, 2022

On Saturday, April 16, 2022, on a warm sunny day just before Easter the Lord’s plans were put in place to call Rosa Lee Blunt home. After 94 years here on earth, Rosa finalized her wonderful life’s journey to answer his call and accept her wings.

Rosa Lee Blunt is sometimes referred to by family and friends as Rose, Rosa, Rosie, “RO”, Miss. Rose, Ma, Momma, Ro Blunt, and Grandma. Regardless of the name choice, they were all sweet sounds of harmony. The family has many reflections of life to share from the beginning of her birth to the late Missouri Henley on May 31, 1927. Rosa was born and grew up in Princess Anne County (Virginia Beach, VA). She attended VA Beach Public Schools. Rosa married on June 19, 1944, Willis L. Blunt in the same city.

Rosa lived most of her life in Norfolk, Virginia. One of her memorable residences is reflected in the close and well-loved Ghent community of Norfolk during the 1960s and early 1970s. She enjoyed some of the finer things in life, including a beautifully decorated home, the perfectly seasoned touch on all home-cooked meals, and a classy stylish wardrobe of clothes. In her later years, she resided in the Tucker House senior apartment building. She was affiliated with Saint Mark Church of Norfolk, VA. However, for several wonderful years, she often attended the Chapel Services held at the Tucker House facility in which she was credited for giving the Thursday night ministries the name “Faithful Living”. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother to her immediate family and so many others devoting much of her careful attention, guidance, wisdom, and support. She spent effortless time doing, recognizing, acknowledging, and giving her undivided attention to her children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren, especially on their birthdays and graduations. So much more praise can be given to her selfless acts of kindness during her 94 years of stay on earth.

Rosa Lee Blunt is predeceased by her late mother Missouri Henley, a late grandfather Jerimiah Henley, Grandmother Jane Crawley-Henley two sons the late Ernest Lee Blunt (T- Bone), the late Miles Mark Blunt and a late grandson Steven Sherrod. There is nothing better to have experienced then a wonderful loving mother. It is a blessing to have a mother who cares for everyone and who is willing to give of herself and who always thinks of others. Your family had the gift of her company for 94 wonderful years. Now God needs her to be a loving angel for those that have gone before her. And you continue to enjoy her loving spirit because she will now be your heavenly angel who watches over you all.
