Ronald Derwin Hopson, Sr., 62, of Portsmouth, VA, passed away on September 11, 2019. Ronald Hopson was no ordinary man. Every step he took and every life he touched felt the joy of his pure love. He had a heart of gold and left a lasting impression on anyone who had the opportunity to meet him. He was a father, husband, and grandfather. He had many roles in his lifetime. He had a smile that would light up a room and a laugh that was hard to forget. He was beloved by all. His family meant everything to him and there was nothing he would not do for them. In addition, he was by far a dedicated Cowboys Fan for Life.He loved to go fishing with his sons or his nephew, Allen Brown. His passing has left a void in our lives beyond measure, but his spirit lives on in his children and grandchildren. Ronald Hopson served in the United States Army for 9 years. He was a loyal and dedicated employee of Leidos/Lockheed Martin for over 25 years.
Ronald leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 42 years, Belinda Hopson; five children, Shenique Hopson, Ashanti Shareef(Kareem), Ronald Derwin Hopson, Jr., Brandon Hopson and Matthew Hopson; five grandchildren, Chase Hopson, Ariana Hopson, Gabriel Shareef, Riley Shareef, and Laila Shareef. He is also survived by his mother, Dora Hopson; brother, Vernon Hopson; Karen Jenkins, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Elton Hopson, Sr.
