On November 3, 2024, our beloved father, grandfather, cousin, uncle, and friend Robert Lee Watson, also known as “Roc, Roscoe, Jazzy Slim, Unk, Roscy Lee,” was called home to be with the Lord. He was born to the late Leon Elliott & Milcey Mae Watson. He was predeceased by his sister, Victoria Wiggins, brother Thurman Lee Watson, and a special brother, Gregory “Fat Cat” Jones.
Roc lived his life to the fullest. He enjoyed hanging with his close friends and spending time with his family. In his younger days, he loved playing baseball, basketball, pool, and dice. Roc also loved watching his Westerns and his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys, in his spare time. He was well known for his tailored suits, his stylish tilted-brim hats, along with his Stacey Adams, Fennix, Emilio Franco, and Mezlan shoes. When Rossie Lee hit that dance floor, all eyes would be on him gracing that floor with his smooth moves. A dancing machine he was, there wasn’t a dance move he couldn’t do. Hand dancing was his passion, and he’d dance with anyone on the floor. He was very well known for his GENEROSITY, his cool PERSONALITY, and his soft, raspy voice that spoke volumes. When he spoke, you understood and RESPECTED what he had to say. He was VERY well known by both the young and the old. Everyone loved and admired Roc like the true “P-TOWN LEGEND“ that he was.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Katrina Evans, Yvonnya Peoples (Anthony), and Shaketa Pearson (Germaine), one son, Kevin Blunt (Geneva), and a special son, Luqman Abdul Malik. He also leaves behind ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Also, to cherish his memory, first cousins Carolyn Watson Jackson, Ronald Watson Sr, and Rosalyn Watson Pearson, a niece Dionne Willams, and a host of extended family, special friends (Mike, Willie, Bubba), and the “Unified Gentleman Club.”
