Sunrise: May 5, 1939

Sunset: May 6, 2019

On Monday, May 6th, 2019, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ called our beloved Robert Lee Hendricks to Heaven.  He passed away peacefully at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.  Robert was educated in the Norfolk Public School System and was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School class of 1960.  Robert was a great provider for his family.  He worked for Ford Motor Company for 31 years and retired in 1995.  He also owned and operated along with his family “Thomas Market” for 32 years. Depending on when you met him during his life journey, he was affectionately known as “Boo” , “Fish Man” and “Captain”.  He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 55 years, Barbara Jean Foreman Hendricks. From that union three children were produced, Robert L. Hendricks of Suffolk, VA, Valerie R. Hendricks of Portsmouth, VA and Tracy Hendricks Dudley (William) of Chesapeake, VA.

Sincere condolences to your family at this most difficult time. When we are separated from our loved ones b/c of death, the pain at times seems unbearable. Our heavenly Father sees your tears and pain and Isaiah 25:8 says he will wipe them away and swallow up death forever.

I am so so sorry about the loss of your father I remember when they brought my dad home I was at your home in the kitchen with you and your mother and your mother told me Dee Dee they brought your dad home and I took off from your house to my house which I could hop the fence which Little Robert did when he hid his motor bike from the police and mom was having a heart attack and told me to lock the shed. You know when a baby girl enters the world the first man in her life is the father and there is no man bigger or stronger than your father we were raised beautiful black men and we know how a man should treat his wife. VALERIE AND TRACY they don’t make men like them anymore and Little Robert was raised by A MAN A GOOD MAN. Although Lil Robert couldn’t play during the summer your dad said he had to go to work. You know I have hope to see my DAD again I always read Revelation 21: 3,4.

I am truly sorry for your loss, what really comforted me in my time of loss is the scripture@ Revelation 21:3&4 . Which gives us the wonderful promise of God wiping out every tear from our eyes and death being no more. I hope this promise from Jehovah will truly bring your family much comfort at this time.
