Mr. LeGrand was always interested in where I was taking my kids on vacations over the summer. He especially loved to talk to them about their travels and always followed it up with a message to listen to mom and dad. He was always smiling and friendly to everyone. I have missed seeing him every morning when I come into the CHMS building. I pray his family finds peace and I know I am forever grateful to have known him.

Mr. LeGrand was one of the kindest and sweetest men ever. He always had a smile, a laugh, and a twinkle in his eye. He most certainly was smooth! I missed him horribly when he left Churchland Middle school. I can’t imagine how his familly feels. I hope God blesses you and guides you through this time. I am sure his sons welcomed him with open arms.

Mr. LeGrand was such a kind person. He would always offer to help me get through the front door in the morning when my hands were full. And…even when they weren’t, he was still so polite to open the door for me :) He carried a genuine “caring” spirit. When he asked “how are you doing today?”, you could tell he really wanted to know. Thank you for the life you lived at CHMS…you certainly won’t be forgotten. Rest On Mr. LeGrand!!!
Blessings, Peace and Comfort to family and loved ones.

Richard was my best friend. He was like a brother to me. If you saw one, the other one was not far behind. We worked together, played sports together and hung out together. I will miss our brotherly talks we had. I will truly miss you. Rest in peace. I love you brother.

Life Is But a Stopping Place

(Words of sentiment, love and remembrance from co-worker, and friend Norma Leigh)

Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what’s to be,
A resting place along the road,
    To sweet eternity.
    We all have different journeys.

    Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
    But never meant to stay…
    Our destination is a place,
    Far greater than we know.

For some the journey is quicker,
For some the journey is slow,
And when the journey finally ends,
    We’ll claim a great reward.

    And find an everlasting peace,
    Together with the lord.

As a former teacher at Churchland Middle School, Mr. Le Grand was one of the first people that I met. He was genuinely a great person and he definitely had your back. He was a very loyal employee and one that you could always count on. With us being vets, we always had something to talk about. A wonderful human being.

I am so sorry to hear of such a nice gentles passing. I remember meeting him during summer school and his blind student learning who I was so quickly. Every morning Le Grand would walk by and say good morning Mrs. Lattimore. One morning his student said it before Mr. Legrand did. Always kind and helpful.
