Rena O’Neil Hagans Lloyd was born in Williamston, NC, February 22, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Maggie James Williams and Oscar Hagans. She passed away peacefully Sunday, April 7, 2019. Rena graduated from E. J. Hayes High School. She left
Williamson, NC in the early 1950s to move to New York. Rena was united in holy matirmony to John B. Lloyd. From this union, they were blessed with two daughters, CasSandra J. Lloyd and Joyce M. Lloyd.
Rena retired from the New York City Board of Education after 22 years of service. She enjoyed going to the casino in Atlantic City and was delighted when the casino in Queens
opened. She also enjoyed being with the seniors at Boulevard Community Center. Rena was preceded in death by her siblings Dan, James, Kathryn, Lossie, Ella Louise, Joe, Fred, Thelma, Virginia, RosaPearl, Dorothy, Otis, Gloria, and Walker.
She leaves to cherish two daughers, CasSandra and Joyce; six grandchildren – Heath, Harve, Heather, Hannah, Herschel, Hakim; six great grandchildren; siblings – Ollie, Doug, Oscar Jr., Robert Lee, and Mary; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Rena was loved by everyone.
