It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, and friend, Rebel Lux Brown, who died unexpectedly on May 26, 2025, at the age of 7, after a sudden and courageous battle with leukemia. Rebel was born to parents Jason T. and Alicia Danielle Brown on July 8, 2017.
Born on July 8, 2017, Rebel brought joy, light, and boundless love to everyone who knew her. A bright and curious spirit, Rebel was finishing the second grade and had recently been accepted to Norfolk Academy for the third grade — a testament to her intelligence, determination, and love of learning.
Rebel had a natural warmth and kindness well beyond her years. She was thoughtful, imaginative, and endlessly creative. She found joy in crafting with her mother and sister, singing around the house, baking sweet treats with her father, and playing with her friends at school. She also loved to travel and was always eager to learn about new places, cultures, and people — her wonder for the world was as wide as her smile. Rebel’s laughter was infectious, and her gentle spirit left a lasting impression on classmates, teachers, and neighbors alike.
Rebel adored her family and cherished every moment spent with them, from playful afternoons with her little sister Reign to deep bonds shared with her cousins and the love and wisdom of her grandparents. Her presence brought happiness and light to all our lives, and the memory of her kindness and radiant smile will forever remain in our hearts.
She is preceded by her paternal grandfather, Timothy Brown; and uncle, Eric Crawford.
She is survived by her loving parents, Jason and Alicia Daniell; her cherished younger sister, Reign; her maternal grandparents, Felton and Alice Jeter; her paternal grandmother, Shelia Brown; aunts, Jamila Robinson and Shelley Lyon; uncles, Donté Crawford and Matt Lyon; and cousins, Ciarra Bonner, Cameron, Chloe, Asaph, and Emma Lyon.
Rebel’s life, though far too short, was filled with beauty, love, and meaning.

June 5, 2025 at 10:46 pmRebel was such a beautiful soul. You will always be in our hearts. We were always happy to attend your birthday parties! Even at an early age, we heard about your faith, and joy in God, and how you shared the good news of Jesus Christ with your classmate. Even though we miss you, we know that you are safely in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We will see you again.
Love,

We are so incredibly sorry for the heartbreaking loss of your sweet little girl. Though words feel so small in the face of such sorrow, please know that our hearts are with you.
Even though we can’t be there with you at the service, we’re thinking of you and sending all our love and support. We can only imagine the pain you’re feeling, and we wish there were something we could do to ease it. There’s never enough words to express how deeply saddened loosing a loved one is especially so soon to something so unfair.
Your daughter was truly special, and her memory will always be held close by Phoenix and all who knew of her. Please know that we are here for you, not just today, but also in the days ahead.

I recall seeing her smiling face during school events. Such a beautiful little girl, and our hearts break for your family. We wish you strength and peace during this difficult time.
