Rashaad Terrance Matthews, 31, was born November 28, 1988 in Norfolk, VA to Sharman and Joseph Bailey. He departed from this life on Monday, October 5, 2020.
He attended Norview High School and soon after was able to make a comfortable life for himself. He was a hard worker who reached for the stars and brought joy to those around him.
To know him was to love him. He was big on family. “Big Dog” as he would call himself, always showed up and showed out for his family. He would always find a way to make us laugh and at the same time irritate us with his constant playfulness. He was dependable and sometimes took risk. He left his imprint on every person that he came in contact with. He was a die-hard 49ers fan and you could tell by the clothes that he wore. He bled black, red and gold through and through. He will be greatly missed by family and friends and there will be a noticeable void in our hearts with his absence.
His memories will be cherished by his loving mother and father, Sharman Bailey and Joseph Bailey; grandmother, Sudie Bailey and Deloris Turner; grandfather, Temecorie Matthews and Theodore Bailey; son, Khari Chapman; brother, Anthony Matthews; sisters, Ronnesha Upsher, Tieara Matthews, Krystal Upshur, Ashanti Goodhope, Sacoya Matthews, 15 nieces and nephews; 4 aunts, 5 uncles; partner, Marie Barbosa and a host of loving cousins and friends.
