On March 12, 2024, the Lord called home one of his Angels, Priscilla (Alston) Gaston, also affectionately known to family and friends as ‘PC”. She was born in Norfolk, Virginia on August 6, 1957, to the late Luna and Jack Alston. Priscilla graduated from Lake Taylor High School. She was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star in Norfolk, Virginia. She spent many years working in the Correctional Institution in the medical department. She lived her life to bring joy to others. If you knew PC “she never met a stranger”. Even in her final hours, she had the bible open throughout her home open to several scriptures. She immersed herself in the word of the Lord.
She was predeceased by her parents, Luna and Jack Alston Jr.; one brother, John Johnson, two sisters, Dianne Johnson Williams and Mary Frances Alston. Anthony O’tey, Sr. life partner. Priscilla leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Tonya Carroll and Nakia Brooks and two sons, La’Mar Alston (Tishara Asbell) and Dominque Alston (Terrinda Alston) her beautiful 19 grand and 9 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marshall Pittman (James Pittman) and Lear Mejri and two brothers, Percey and Clarence Alston and a host nieces and nephews.

March 19, 2024 at 6:52 pmIn Loving Memory of my Beloved Mother “PC”
As I write this message, I am processing how we spent last weekend together. We were rolling to the wheels fell off. You talked to all your children and spent time with your great-grandchildren. We laughed and talked about old times. I did not know it would be our last weekend together.
As I reflect on that Saturday, I remember a conversation you had with Smoke. I was ear hustling, and Smoke was telling you Luke was a Physician in the Bible. You responded, “Smoke I got to look that up for myself” “LOL”. She was always reading scripture. Your energy was high, and we ate all weekend and busted up like two fat cats!
Sweetheart,
This is your “little girl” that is what you called me and Winnie. I hear you on my voicemail right now saying Tonya! “Give me a call Lil- girl”.
First, I want to say “Thank You” for being the best mother to your children, Tonya, Hat, Smoke, and Winnie. Thank you, for choosing to birth us. It was one of the most selfless acts you did for us. You were our best friend, our rock, and our greatest supporter. Your fostering love knew no bounds, and your kindness touched the lives of everyone you encountered.
Mom, you taught us resilience, forgiveness, and the beauty of unconditional love. Your laughter filled our home with warmth and happiness. You had the best funniest sayings and a stand-up comedian in your own right!
Mom, you were just like Ruth in the Bible. Ruth 1:16 reminds me of how you loved your children, grandchildren, family, and close friends. Ruth 1:16: “And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God.” This verse beautifully expresses Ruth’s unconditional loyalty and commitment to her mother-in-law, Naomi. It reflects her deep love and devotion, emphasizing the importance of relationships and faith.
To my siblings and children
Well done, Hat, Smoke, and Winnie. Our mother taught us to love, forgive, and take care of each other. She’s passed away and is with the Lord. I just want each of you to know that we all had a special bond with her. In the voice of PC’s grandsons, Lil-Keith, Kevin, and Fudge “My Nana is the best that ever did it! “
Mom, rest peacefully, your race is won, now wear your crown. Take your place in the kingdom where the streets are paved in gold. There will be no more pain, sorrow, or sickness. You are Free! Hallelujah! Praise The Lord You Are Free!
Let your love be the guiding light that brightens our path until the day we meet again.
