Phyllis L. Johnson

Sunrise: March 25, 1979

Sunset: February 20, 2024

Phyllis Lynette Johnson, affectionately known as Molly, was birthed by late Benita Moore on March 25, 1979 and went to be with the Lord on February 20, 2024 at the age of 44 years old. She was born and raised in Norfolk, VA. She was survived by her husband Samuel Johnson, her children Travon Johnson, Teasya Johnson, Tanasha Johnson, and Prince Wilson. She had many siblings including her big brother Douglas Moore, big sister Kimberly Davis, sister in loves Fatima Moore, Kirsten Johnson, and Tarameka Shepherd, and brother in love Jahmad Johnson. She also left behind a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins along with many close family friends. Molly was dearly loved far and wide in her family and community. She was truly unforgettable.

There is an endless list of what made her so lovable. She was a wonderful wife and amazing mother. She had a real gift and love for cooking and had her own business called Molly’s Kitchen. She always looked forward to cooking big meals and hosting family holidays and events at her home. Earlier in her life she had it in her heart to pursue caregiving and nursing. It was true and genuine to who she was . She had a nurturing and loving nurse’s heart. She showed that passion in the way she treated her friends and family. She will be remembered for her ability to show up for others in spite of the personal challenges she faced. Her door and her heart were always open to those who needed her. She was the most genuine friend with the kindest heart and always gave loving and honest advice even if it was hard to hear. She was always the strong shoulder to lean on, the definition of dependable and reliable. She was brave and fearless, and was determined to live a full and fun life regardless of any obstacles that stood in her way. She was beautiful in every sense of the word, inside and out. She was truly the glue, the backbone, and the pillar that kept her family together. In everything she did and for everyone she loved she gave her all and never held back. She was a rare and precious gem gone much too soon. Her love, her laughter, and her warming smile will live forever in the hearts of all who loved her. Wherever Molly’s presence graced, her love was felt intensely. She was an angel in human form, a Godsend that was and always will be cherished.
