Peter Williams, Jr.

Sunrise: June 2, 1958

Sunset: April 4, 2025

Peter Williams, Jr., a die-hard Cowboys fan and known to many as “mighty fine”, was born on June 2, 1958, in Portsmouth, VA. He was the beloved first son of nine children born to the late Peter Gan Williams and the late Mary Elizabeth Taylor Williams.

Peter attended Portsmouth Public Schools. He was a decent athlete, he played baseball, football, basketball, and other sports. Also, he loved to sing, but couldn’t hold a note, but we loved him anyway, lol. Peter had four children whom he loved and two beautiful grandchildren, whom he cherished. He often talked about getting better for them, but God had other plans. He also talked about the love of God and how God saved him and anyone who knew him, knew how much he loved and cared for his family and friends. Peter’s first job was working for Burger King as a Porter, he later gained employment with the City of Portsmouth Public Works. After leaving that job, he started his own business installing sprinkler systems.

Peter is preceded in death by his parents, Peter Gan Williams, Mary Elizabeth Taylor Williams; daughter, Shapeda Williams; siblings, Diana Richardson, Maurice Williams, and Maria Skinner.

He leaves to cherish his memory his three children, Shakirha Williams, Lepete Williams, and Shalonda Lamb; two grandchildren, Amouria Williams, Day’Sion Williams; five siblings, Deborah Gray, Robert Williams (Shonnell), Gertie Rodgers (Darryl), Michael Williams, Brian Skinner; one uncle, Robert Williams (Pam) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Peter’s life was a blessing, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
