On Wednesday, September 29, 2021 Perry Blanchard was called to rest from labor to reward at the young age of 59. The world has lost a great brother, husband, father, and friend. Perry was known by many nicknames and answered to them all. You may have called him TuTu, Tattoo, Stewie or Toot, but no matter what named you used, the MAN was the same. He was a hard worker, always bubbly, calm and modest, but self-assured. Perry was the person who was always there when his friends needed help.
His family knew him only as a kind, mild-mannered and humble man. He enjoyed the comforts of home; taking care of the yard and staying busy with projects around the house. He was a nurturer and loved his family, and his grandchildren had a special place in his heart. He didn’t need anything fancy, just long rides with his wife and a good seafood dinner!
If you asked Perry, his greatest accomplishment wasn’t his football memorabilia or his career as a supervisor with the City of Chesapeake for over twenty years. It was being a family man.
Perry was predeceased by his father Sidney Blanchard Sr., his sister Linda Allen, his brother Sidney Blanchard Jr., and his grandson Sharod Boyd Jr. Perry leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Sharon Blanchard, his mother Emma Blanchard, two sisters Patty Blanchard and Cynthia Riddick; two brothers Bruce Blanchard and Samuel Blanchard; and his children; Anthony Perry, Shanell Cherry, ShaKina Boyd, Rodney Boyd, Sharod Boyd Sr., Emmanuel Boyd, Marquis Boyd, Anton Boyd, Antione Boyd, Rhonda Boyd, Marquitta Boyd, Starr Boyd and Gracie Harris. Perry will also be greatly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, family and friends.
