Patrica Ann Bethea was born in Norfolk, Virginia, on October 3, 1953 to the late George Bethea, Sr. and Alice Mae Hobbs Bethea. She attended Norfolk Public Schools and was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, Class of 1972. Patricia worked as a supervisor of Dietary Services for many years at DePaul Hospital and various healthcare facilities. Patricia was passionate about cooking home-cooked meals and selflessly shared her gift with family and friends. It gave her great pleasure and joy to watch the people she loved gather and enjoy her delicious, home-cooked meals.
Patricia enjoyed playing cards and bingo before giving her life to the Lord. She was a dedicated member of New Hope Church, where she served the Lord with all her heart. Patricia had a special interest in serving seniors of her church and the Franklin Arms Community where she lived. She was a beacon of light, love, and generosity, touching the lives of everyone she met with her kindness and unwavering faith.
Outside of her passion for family, cooking, her faith, and community service, Patricia was a true Dallas Cowboys fan, no matter their record. She will be remembered for being a kind-hearted, sweet, soulful woman who was a giver to anyone in need.
Patricia is predeceased by her parents, George Sr. and Alice Mae Hobbs Bethea, sisters, Deloris Cartwright (Ellsworth), Charlene Williams (Robert Sr.), brother, George Bethea, Jr. and leaves to carry her legacy, three sons, Anthony Jenkins, Shawn Jenkins (Sabrina), Connell Jenkins; eight grandchildren, Anthony Stringfield, Anquinee Jenkins, Tahliq Jenkins, Tyriq Jenkins, Alahza Jenkins, Teron Jenkins, Tayshawn Jenkins, Noel Jenkins; one great grandson, Kashton Stringfield and another baby boy on the way; brothers, Jerome Bethea (Betty), Wesley Bethea (Angela), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special thanks to her nieces, Laquita and Ashley Williams.
Rest in peace, our beautiful angel. Your love, light, and kindness will remain in our hearts forever.

March 12, 2025 at 9:19 pmMs. Patricia will truly be missed. I met her through my sister, Sabrina, many years ago, and she was always so pleasant and such a genuinely nice person every time I encountered her. She is truly at peace now and no longer suffering on this earth. To her family and loved ones, you are in my prayers. May God continue to heal your hearts, and may Ms. Patricia’s legacy of love live on forever.
