Pastor Justus Manguel Sharp, affectionately known as “Jay”, graced this world on August 20, 1967, and left a lasting legacy on December 29, 2023. He was born to Apostle Olivia V. Sharp and the late Frank Wilson Sharp. He leaves to cherish his memories: his beloved wife, Angelena Sharp; his mother, Apostle Olivia Sharp; six children, Olivia Sharp (Eden), Olicia Sharp, Deche’ McDonald (Kelvin), Devon Doyle, Darius Doyle, and Iyana Ferrell (Demetre); two grandchildren, Azariyah Chatman and Zaiir Ferrell; one sister, Tonia Robinson, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In addition to his immediate family, Pastor Jay was a beloved brother to Arlene Robinson, Cynthia Foster, Zina Rhodes, Clarissa Cotton, and Monica Davis.
Educated in Portsmouth City Schools, he graduated in 1986, continuing his studies in art at Tidewater Community College.
Once Pastor Jay gave God the ultimate “Yes”, his walk with Christ led him home to the United Full Gospel Revival Center International Ministries, where he served faithfully under the leadership of his mother, Overseer Apostle Olivia Sharp, Senior Pastor Janet Ellis, and the late General Overseer Apostle Dallas Ellis, Sr. Ordained in 2018, he pastored the Weldon, NC church with unwavering dedication. Prior to his pastoral role, he served as the ministry’s executive assistant administrator and held the title of “Prophet of the house.”
Beyond his spiritual calling, Pastor Jay showcased his diverse talents. Under Razor Sharp Productions, he produced powerful worship music, while Sharp Art Creations bore witness to his artistic flair. His beautiful gift of singing and songwriting highlighted his divine talent that ministered to the souls of many.
Pastor Justus Manguel Sharp was known as an intelligent, humorous, and compassionate man of God who lived a life well done as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, leader, and servant. His departure leaves us with an assurance that “We are Biblical!” “We are Supernatural!” and “We are Walking with Angels!”
In celebrating him, we honor a life rich in faith, family, and creativity. His soul now rests in eternal peace, and his journey is an inspiration to all who were blessed to know him.
