“Her unconditional love was our greatest gift, her laughter our sweetest memory, and her strength will forever guide us.”
With deep love and cherished memories, we honor the life of Patrica Evon Gay (Jones), a devoted mother, a compassionate soul, and a guiding light to all who knew her.
A proud graduate of Burke High School in Charleston, SC, and Virginia’s Certified Nursing Program, Patrica dedicated her life to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Beyond her profession, she nurtured everyone around her with love, laughter, and a special wisdom that could turn any tough moment into a lesson worth remembering.
Patrica had an unwavering love for her children, showing it not just through words but through her actions and many sacrifices. She led by example, teaching them resilience, strength, and the power to rise above life’s trials and tribulations—no matter what the world said was impossible.
She was also known for her quick wit and sense of humor, effortlessly bringing laughter into any room. Whether it was a playful joke or a perfectly timed remark, she had a way of making life lighter and more joyful.
Patrica also had a deep appreciation for beauty and took great pride in her home and surroundings. Her yard was a reflection of her care and dedication, earning her the coveted “Yard of the Month” title many times over. She found joy in creating a welcoming and beautiful space for her children.
Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, laughter, and wisdom will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Her love extended warmly to her grandchildren, who were a constant source of joy in her life. She delighted in sharing cherished family moments and offering guidance, encouragement, and an ever-present smile that brightened every gathering. Her legacy of love lives on in the hearts of her grandchildren, who will forever remember the wisdom and warmth she bestowed upon them.
Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, laughter, and wisdom will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She is predeceased by her mother, Virginia Harper, father, Levi Jones, and son, Clarence “Chevy” Jones.
She is survived by her children, Randell Lemon, LaTishia Lemon, and Shomari Lemon; grandchildren, Jakell Johnson (Wakana), Demontre Hunter (Yeniffer), Tiesha Lemon, Tavian Lemon, Taj Harris, Tacari Harris, Shomari Holloway and Armani Holloway, and great-grandson, Xacari Hunter (Demontre).
The family would like to send a special thanks to Lisa Murphy for her kind love and unwavering support as a friend during their mother’s final days. And a host of other family members and friends in which she cherished and had unwavering love for.

March 6, 2025 at 5:13 amFor my best friend that filled the last few years of my life with joy, light and her unending laughter. For the days of spending time getting ” stuck”, laughing at the dark times life tried to throw at us, for her unwaivering support, love and her beautiful way at looking at life, even when that life throws the worst at us… I will always be a better human, a better spirit and a better soul for having her in my life. She was here so briefly but what a huge impact that dear lady made on this world, and each of us.
