Parthenia Brown

Sunrise: January 5, 1931

Sunset: February 6, 2021
Parthenia Brown, 90, went to be with the Lord on February 6, 2021. She was  a member and beloved church mother of Kingdom Reign Church VB. She professed her faith in God early on and steered others to God throughout her life.  It wasn’t unusual for her to make the time to offer a “Let me pray for you” and share Godly words of wisdom.  The  missionary and evangelistic call on her life was certainly reflected through her encounters with people and went beyond any paper certifications she held.  She attended nursing school and worked in the retail industry. Her most enjoyable hobby was gardening. She loved indoor and outdoor plants and  flowers and  had a green thumb for making them grow. She knew the right type and amount of soil, the proper watering  so the roots wouldn’t die and how to figure out how much light they needed. She understood when they needed a boost of fertilizer.  Her Christian life was as rooted as the plants and  flowers that she loved so well.
Parthenia  is predeceased by her daughters, Sandra P. Coleman, Rita R. Rogers a son, Howard W. Brown Jr. and a brother Lawrence N. Harris. She is survived by a sister, Pearline Hines of Norfolk;  daughters, Janet P. Brown of Chesapeake, Teresa M. Byrd  and Parthenia A. Mayo of Virginia Beach . She also leaves three son-in-laws, nine grandchildren, and a host of great and great-great grandchildren to cherish her memory.

I’m sadden at the passing of Aunt Parthenia. She always offered a warm greeting with a smile that was delightful to receive. I remember how she use to work so happily in her flower garden, it was wonderful watching her there. I have many fond memories of times being in her company. Although she has taken her heavenly space she’ll never be forgotten within my heart. May you find peace in knowing she loved all that was of God.
