Sunrise: August 8, 1998

Sunset: August 19, 2023

Omar Jose Trevonta’ Williams “O-Diddy” was born on August 8, 1998 to Femina Hawkins and his fathers Antonio Hawkins and Anthony Pearson. Omar was the youngest son of his family. He grew up in Chesapeake and Norfolk, Virginia. Omar was educated in Norfolk and Chesapeake Public Schools. He graduated from Oscar Smith High School with honors and went on to Virginia Union University majoring in Computer Science and Programming. Omar was working for Brooke Safety Equipment (Denver, CO) as a warehouse Supervisor. Omar was not arrogant, but a confident, intelligent young man. He made friends everywhere he went. He deeply touched the lives of everyone that he came into contact with. When Omar wasn’t working he spent his free time playing his Saturday morning hoops and football. He also enjoyed playing his guitar and video games; and often hung out with his mom and dad (and their old friends as he called them). Omar presence was always known when he entered a room. His smile lit up the room as if it was a thousand candles. With his outgoing, respectful personality, Omar’s goal was to make people smile and feel loved. Omar was preceded in death by his grandfather, Howard Harrell; great grandparents, Ethel and Olivia Blount; grandparents, Stella and Maceo Hawkins; aunts, Sabrina Harrell, Pamela Blount, Divorice Watson; uncle, David Blount; cousins, Qwenta Watson and Quinton Wells. He leaves to cherish his memories, grandmother, Geraldine Williams; lifelong best friend, Diamond McGhee; brothers, James Williams (Alexandra) of Florida, Anthony and Paris Freeman of Portsmouth; sisters, Jada Terrell of Portsmouth, Ashonda Hawkins of Georgia; sister in law, Andellika Wilson of Chesapeake; three nephews; three nieces; aunties, Veronica Edwards of Norfolk, Sheron Delaney of North Carolina, Nicole Hawkins and Christina Hawkins of Portsmouth; Lena Fuller of Norfolk; two uncles, Michael Williams of Chesapeake and Maceo Hawkins of Portsmouth; cousin, Makyhia Williams (Twin); a host of great aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. “I am always with you my family. Continue to live and not allow others of evil to destroy your JOY, HAPPINESS, AND LOVE. Until we meet again. I LOVE YOU!!!!!”

Omar It’s Lexy. Remember we met in 7th grade but didn’t start becoming real close til freshman yr lol. I loved and miss going to the courts to play ball with you. I love all the moments we spent together. You was the realest friend I ever had. We didn’t get to link back up since you moved and I joined the military. We was just talking about how we miss each other and that you was gonna come to Atlanta. Im sorry we didn’t get to have that sooner. You was like my brother, we always looked out for each other even if that meant one of us had money when the other didn’t. Just two kids in south norfolk who just wanted to laugh and play basketball. I know you’re looking down at all of us. Sleep well my brother. I love you. Condolences to your family as well.

Omar, brother I know you already know it but we all love you bro and miss you so so much that it hurts. That will never change. Life is forever changed and it won’t be the same and it doesn’t even make sense to me still but I promise I will keep living for you from here on just like we always have. Being kind & loving one another. Looking out for those who can’t look out for themselves. You were my best friend growing up for a billion different reasons and you and me know but the one that is just sticking in my mind 24/7 is what we always ended up circling back to talk about was the great things we wanted do…for us…our families… each other… and eventually the world. We wanted to change the world for the better and I’m going to keep it pushing till I can’t push no more Omar, I swear it. God knows the hurt we all feeling down here but I when I lay down at night and talk to him I’ll always check in with you. You were my actual like real life brother from another Mother and you always will be ain’t nothing changing. You meant so much to me and so many people on this Earth & it isn’t any surprise why. You made this world a better place. The love and happiness you would bring every moment made you, you. That real love. That strong, unwavering, I got you know matter what love. Those laughs that make your side hurt and cheeks sore from laughing. We will try to replicate this love like you would even though no one could ever be the great soul that is Omar Williams. Watch over your family now with those big beautiful wings and I ask God to please bless them and watch over them along side you. I love you bro and until we meet again you take it easy and keep the smiles and laughs rolling up there.

    I miss you my boy.

Long Live Omar Forever in our Hearts and Minds ❤️💙
