Olivia Worrell Myers

Olivia was born to the union of the late Ben Worrell and Adell Worrell on May 3,1918. She was educated in Boykins; VA. Oliva was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Edgar Myers Sr. They later became the proud parents of two children, son Edgar T Myers, Jr, and daughter Gwendolyn Myers. Olivia accepted Jesus Christ into her life as her savior at an early age. In 1957 she and her mother Adell Worrell opened their home to start the Church of God Norfolk. Rev John D Davis became the Pastor. The church later moved to Hanson Ave, Norfolk, VA then moved to the current location on Bellamy Ave, Norfolk, VA.

Olivia worked for Eastern Burlap and Trading Company for over sixty years. She loved her employers Mr. and Mrs. Popkin’s and Richard Popkins. They loved and always showed her kindness. Olivia loved to cook and iron, she always took good care of her mother and ways made sure her family had what they needed. She always opened her home to family members and helped them anyway that she could. She was a kindhearted person who loved everyone.

Olivia leaves to cherish her memories her loving and dedicated children Edgar T Myers, Jr (Shelby) and Gwendolyn Myers Manson (Antonio);Her daughter in law and son in law were also loving and dedicated to her; granddaughter, Yolanda Jefferson (James);five great grands and great great grands; cousin, Ethel Mosley; sister in law, Artlee Hopkins; nephews, Elston Fitzgerald, James Simmons, George Myers; niece Artlee Simmons and a host of family, cousin and friends.

She is now at rest and will be forever missed but not forgotten by all.
