Nicki Roseanna Anderson transitioned peacefully at Chesapeake Regional Medical after a long illness on Friday, December 21, 2024, with her mother at her bedside. Nicki was born to parents Robert & Shirley Rogers on January 12, 1977, at Halifax Health Medical Center, Daytona Beach, FL. She was the second oldest out of four siblings: Vicki, ShirRhonda, and Robert.
As a baby, she was presented to the Lord at a very early age. Her parents realized that they had been gifted with a very special child who excelled in academics, sports, choir, dramatics, and leadership. Her academic pursuits included graduating from elementary school and receiving her high school diploma in 1994 from Oakton High School in Fairfax, VA.
Nicki later enlisted in the U.S. Navy (11/10/1998 – 11/30/2018) and served her country as an Air Traffic Controller First Class, retiring at NAVSTA NORFOLK. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. After retiring, she earned an Associate degree in Culinary Art from The Art Institute of Virginia Beach.
Nicki met her husband, Josef Adonis Anderson, early in her Navy enlistment, and the two were joined in Holy Matrimony on March 16, 2002. To this union were born Josef Adonis Anderson, Jr.; Jayden Anthony Anderson; Janyla AnnLa Prade Anderson; Jazlynn Aaliyah Anderson; and Jenesis Abrianna Rosetta Anderson.
Amongst her greatest loves were her children, always showing them great support and reassuring them of her love. Nicki truly enjoyed life. A lover of cooking and her family. To know Nicki was to love her because she was humble, tempered, and patient. She had the ability to make everyone feel at ease when speaking to her, especially her children. Even while enduring her own suffering, she always showed concern for others. Nicki’s hobbies included walking, medicating on the water, and journaling.
Nicki fought a long, hard physical fight, however, that never hindered her from dedicating time to her family and the Lord. She fought a good fight.
Legacy and Remembrance

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband Josef Adonis Anderson; her children: Josef Adonis Anderson, Jr.; Jayden Anthony Anderson, Janyla AnnLa Prade Anderson; Jazlynn Aaliyah Anderson; Jenesis Abrianna Rosetta Anderson; her sister: ShirRhonda Roberta Rogers and her brother: Robert Rogers, Jr. Her mother, Shirley and father, Robert; aunts (Verna Agbar of Lakeland, FL, Diane Thurmond of Homestead, FL, and Rena Agbar of Lakeland, FL), uncle (Archie Robinson of Lakeland, FL), nieces (Breanna Thompson & ShirLayshia), nephews (Eric, Sha’Ron, Sha’Mar, Sha’Nori, Sha’Torrie & Sha’Varee), great-nieces (Aria & Amariana), in-laws, military associates, friends, other relatives and classmates.
