Nellie Sarah Williams was born August 9, 1935 to Harrison and Sarah Griffin Roach. Nellie departed this life on April
5, 2020 in her home. Nellie grew up in New Land, North Carolina and attended New Land High School. Nellie had five siblings: two brothers, Charlie and Benjamin and three sisters, Nancy Griffin, Julie Hoffler and Mary Kirkland. Mary is the only living sibling.

She leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband, Naman Williams, they fell in love and married in North Carolina on April 7, 1956. They had seven children, Phyllis Williams Swindell (Theordore), Ernest Williams (Gilma) , Curly Williams, Sylvester Williams (Jackie), Durene Caldwell, Sarah Walston, Lester Williams (Nicole) nineteen grandchildren, (one deceased), forty-two greatgrandchildren (one deceased) and one great- great grandchild and her dear friend and caretaker Carlatta “Cee Cee” Cuffee (Curly Williams) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
