Myrtle M. Mantuano

Myrtle M. “Sissy” Mantuano, 74, of Norfolk, passed peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Sentara Leigh hospital. Born on September 29, 1944 in Norfolk, Va. to the late Murdock & Mildred Gibbs, she was the wife of the late Vivencio “Benny” Mantuano.  She is predeceased by her brother, Murdock Gibbs Jr., and her sisters, Shirley Gray Anchors and Gail Manners and is survived by her brother, Rudolph Gibbs of Tupper Lake, NY, two sisters, Elizabeth Fruge of Norfolk, Va., and Julia Garland of Yemassee, SC, children, Robert Osborne of Norfolk, Va, Monica Osborne of Norfolk, Va, Dee Nichols of Lemoore, Ca, and Vince Mantuano of Gulf Breeze, Fl, grandchildren Ashlee, Kim, Brian, Heather, Tre, Alex, Rodney, Aaron, Paris, Haley, Aiyana, Dylan, Robert “Lil man”, Aniyah, Amaya, and four great grandchildren.

Sissy loved her dog, Teddy, and was especially close to her grandson, Tre. Playing bingo was her favorite pastime and she enjoyed drinking hot chocolate everyday. She had a forgiving soul and a giving heart, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family is especially grateful to Sissy’s daughter-in-law and Bobby’s wife, Amanda, for her unwavering love, care, and support.
