Moe was an awesome family friend and wonderful neighbor of mine when I was growing up. He was such an influential person to be around no matter who he was talking to. I remember being young and him hearing me sing saying, ‘you need to try out for American Idol!’ I never did because I was too chicken to do so. He said one thing to me that has always stuck to me and it brings a smile to my face. It was a joking matter and I figure that I will let it be known but please don’t take it the wrong way. He had made some hot wings one night and all I could do was scarf them down because they were amazing! He looked at me and said,’you’re a black girl trapped in a white girls body since you love spicy food!’ He always knew what to say to make someone’s day brighter. Please do forgive me if that was wrong to post, I just figured I’d spread a smile that he sent me. He made everyday fun especially cookouts when all of us neighbors would get together and have a feast. I won’t ever forget learning how to eat my first crab and him telling me to watch out for the dead man in the crab. When the food was good, he’d always say, “That’s good ‘ems!!” Moe will forever have an impact on my life and the things he taught me growing up, I’ll pass on to Bella. I love you, Moe. God and heaven is truly blessed to have an angel like you singing in the choir. For Moe’s family, I sincerely send my deepest condolences to you. Moe was such a wonderful man and a gentle soul to be around. I’m forever grateful for his presence to have graced my life. I pray that god will guide and comfort you all during this hard time. His body is now at peace and he’s walking the streets of gold.

Mrs. Annette & Mr. Johnny , and to the rest of the family I’m so very sorry to find this out. I knew something was wrong when he stopped communicating with me. He must have gotten bad the same time my son did. I miss my fishing ? buddy. We had so much fun together. I was shocked when I found this a couple of days after it happened. Couldn’t say anything at the time. I was shocked. We were besties forever, that’s what he used to say. He was a good, kind soul. Easy to talk to and easy to get along with. I’ll miss him for a very long time. And, I know he was very, very proud of that Grandbaby !!!! Love the Owens Family !!!! ( His neighbor for a long time)
