Mirian Louise Johnson

Sunrise: February 17, 1948

Sunset: May 22, 2025

On Thursday, May 22, 2025, Mirian Louise Johnson, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, cousin, and friend, heard God’s call and surrendered to His will to make heaven her home after a fearless and inspirational battle with her health.

Mirian Louise Johnson was born on February 17, 1948, in Norfolk, VA, to the late Ella Louise Stith and George William Davis. Mirian received her education in Norfolk, VA, and she also married Herbert Albert Knowles. During their union, she had three children. Later in life, she met and married Curtis Johnson. She was employed with the Head Start Organization as a cook, where she retired.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Curtis Johnson, her mother, Ella Stith, and her father, George Davis.

She will be deeply missed by her children and her family. She leaves to cherish her memories, her three children, Andrea Acree, Latonia Skinner, and Herbert Knowles; six grandchildren, Tameka Davis, Tiffany Grice, Tiara Acree, Dennis Acree, Davion Skinner (Shajuana), and Desmond Skinner; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Though we know heaven has welcomed a very special person, our hearts will still feel sorrow.

“You now have sorrow, but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice.” – John 16:22

So sorry to hear of Mirian’s transition, but heaven gained a wonderful soul. She is now rejoicing with the angels. She was most kind to me whenever I was in her presence. A kind spirit and a wonderful soul ! We know if we live right, there will be a wonderful reunion in heaven with all our loved ones. Rest in power.
