Miles James Elliott

On November 19, 2024, God in His infinite wisdom very peacefully brought to a close the earthly life of Miles James Elliott (51 years of age) loving known as “MJ” by family and friends.  “MJ” heeded the call of His Heavenly Father to the mansion prepared for him.

“MJ”, a resident of Portsmouth, VA, was born on April 16, 1973 to Miles Elliott, II and Patricia D. Elliott.  He grew up in New First Baptist Church (Taylorsville) where his parents and grandparents were active members.  “MJ” was a product of the Portsmouth Public School System; a 1991 graduate of I. C. Norcom High School. He furthered his education at Norfolk State University graduating in 1996 with a B.S. Degree in Mass Communication. “MJ” was employed with Capital One as a Senior Customer Protection Coordinator for eight years. He had a long career in customer service working for major corporations including GEICO and Nielsen Rating.

“MJ” was predeceased by his father, Miles Elliott, II.

“MJ” leaves a legacy of love and cherished memories to his mother, Patricia D. Elliott; sister, Danielle E. Bazemore (John M. Bazemore) and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was loved by many and he will be greatly missed.

    I worked with Miles at Capital One for about a year, he was always so so helpful and never made me feel like a bother. My deepest condolences to Miles’ family and friends.
