Mildred Wright

Mildred Wright, our gem passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 7, 20019 at 7:05 am. She was born on October 20, 1938 to the late Linwood and Minnie Skinner -White. She was predeceased by her husband, Jessie L. Wright; her sons, hurnell and Kerry Wright; her granddaughter, Jasmine Vasquez; her brothers, Franklin, Herbert, Earnest and Nicholas Skinner, Jr.; stepbrothers, Alexander and Clinton White; stepbrother-in-law, Wilbert Bernard. Mildred graduated from Princess Anne High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Soon after graduation she married Jessie Wright and moved to New York, NY. After having three sons with her husband, she started working at the United States Postal Office where she received full retirement after 35 (or more) years of dedicated service. She also helped to raise Jessie’s daughter Tanja Terry.

Mildred is survived by her son, Jessie Wright (Claudette) of Connecticut; stepdaughter, Tanja Terry of Maryland; sisters, Ernestine Sneed (Lawrence) of Norfolk, Rev. Joyce McCoy (Rev, David); stepsister, Ethel Bernard of Chesapeake; brothers, Cornelius Skinner of Chesapeake and Stanley Skinner (Deneen) of Newport News; close family friend, Carol Blunt of Chesapeake; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

    I worked with Dawson at Gosnold Apartments in Norfolk. He was friendly and respectful always “Yes ma’am and No ma’am”.
    He was a hardworking young man. He will be greatly missed.

    I am truly sorry for your loss, what really comforted me in my time of loss is the scripture@ Revelation 21:3&4 . Which gives us the wonderful promise of God wiping out every tear from our eyes and death being no more. I hope this promise from Jehovah will truly bring your family much comfort at this time.
