Mildred M. Thompson

Sunrise: August 23, 1930

Sunset: November 12, 2024

On Tuesday, November 12, 2024, our beloved mother, grandmother, and aunt took her final rest. She was born to James Lonnie and Emma Elizabeth Terrell on August 23, 1930. Mildred was the last surviving sibling of 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

Mildred graduated from Williamson-Springfield High School, in Wilson, North Carolina.  Mildred retired from Norfolk General Hospital, as an Operating Room Sterilization Technician after over 30 years of service.

Mildred loved her girls, Naomi and Michelle affectionately known as “Shellie Lee” and “Shea Aya”! Stuart was her favorite, of them all – as they shared the same birthday; and she was allowed to choose the celebratory restaurant. Maurice was her little Blue Bird. One of Mildred’s favorite past times was playing bingo. She also loved to read fiction novels; and eat desserts, after every meal! She loved the Game Show Network with all of her shows, especially Family Feud.

Mildred is preceded in death by her loving Father, James Lonnie Terrell; her beautiful Mother, Emma Elizabeth Terrell, her darling son, Robert Lee “Tank” Thompson, Jr. along with 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Mildred leaves to cherish her memory her 2 loving and supportive Daughters, Naomi Bowe, Michelle Nelson (Elvis) and daughter-in-law, Veronica Thompson. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren,  21 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
