In remembrance and unwavering love for Mildred “Bay” Ophelia (Rainey) Batts. Bay was born January 25, 1940 in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Clearthur Rainey Sr. and Fannie Ophelia Ellison Rainey. Bay was baptized early in life and raised in a Baptist home. She was educated in the Norfolk Public School System and worked various jobs before becoming a housewife.
Bay was married to the late USMC PFC Thomas Earl Batts, Sr. of Norfolk, Virginia on April 21, 1959. Out of this union they had nine children.
Bay always enjoyed spending time with her children, and sharing old stories and many laughs. Bay was a great giver, provider and protector who was always willing to share, and she was grateful for the many blessings that God had bestowed upon her family. Bay had a big personality, and was always authentic. Bay also loved to dance and have a good time as well as cook for her family. She spent time taking care of her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Above all, Bay enjoyed life to the fullest.
Bay was called home to God on October 25, 2020.

Batts III; Thomas Stith; Quinton Rainey Jr.; Kameron Bryant Sr.; Keyon Bryant; Brandon Snider; Brittany Snider; Dominique Batts; Quantrell Rainey 20 Great-Grandchildren; Aunts, Helen Ellison Everette and Teresa Rainey Whitaker; Uncle John M.
