Michael Briggs

Sunrise: September 11, 1970

Sunset: March 6, 2021

The name Michael in Hebrew means: “Who is like God”. In the bible, St. Michael led the angels against the Army of Satan and became the patron saint of soldiers. Just food for thought.

Michael Anthony Briggs was born in Philadelphia, PA where he was reared until his Jr. and High School years in Willingboro, NJ. He was an awesome baseball and basketball player. Michael was adventurous and wasn’t scared of anything. He loved nice cars and clothes. His charm was like no other. He was a smooth talker and once you met him it was difficult to resist his charm. He was always pursuing a degree or education of some sort to enhance his intellectual capabilities. He could talk to anyone about anything. He was very smart. Michael is a graduate of University of Virginia Darden School of Business; where he obtained a certification in Business Entrepreneurship with honors. He was an entrepreneur. He could install flooring, build you a deck, or do your taxes. He was multi-talented.

Michael inspired to be a minister and studied the word vigorously. He was always an inspiration to those he came in contact with and fulfilled his purpose by gaining a personal relationship with God and sharing his testimony with others. He knew the Lord and was in search of eternal life. When he laid to rest on Saturday, March 6, 2021, he was set free. He crossed over to be with the Lord.
Michael is predeceased by his paternal grandparents: Berry Briggs and Rosa Parham. maternal grandparents: Cecil and Thelma Boggs and mother: Betty Boggs.

He leaves to cherish his memory his father: Elmore Briggs, Sr. Four children: Anthony Bollers, Willingboro, NJ, Donye’ Tucker, Camden, NJ, Sade’ Briggs, Collingswood, NJ and Dominique Briggs-Peru, Burlington, NJ. Four grandchildren: Anthony, Amani, Ava, & baby girl. Three sisters: Subrina Boggs, Chesapeake, VA, Pamela Briggs-Ford, Chesapeake, VA, Cynthia Briggs-Chester (Laymond), Norfolk, VA, and One brother: Elmore Briggs, Jr. (April), Smyrna, DE. One aunt: Shirley Childers (Earl), Dallas, TX, One uncle: Larry Boggs (Darrline), Suffolk, VA and a great uncle: Elton Boggs, Philadelphia, PA. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special friend Sherron Thomas, Elks Grove, CA.
Love:
I now know that when God said: and now there are three, “faith, hope, and love”, but the greatest of the three is “love.” I know what he was talking about. There’s nothing greater than love, because when you love you actually manifest the nature of God. You can see God because love is perfect. There are no flaws in love. There may be a difference of opinion in how we do things, but our love is perfect, because it belongs to God and it is God. When you can truly overlook a person’s shortcomings and their flaws, and continue to go forward without holding it against them, you have loved.
