Michael Anthony Williams passed away on April 17, 2018 in Portsmouth, VA. He was born in Virginia on August 1, 1957 to the late Ola Mae Jennings Williams and Haywood Williams of Suffolk, VA. He is the youngest boy of 5 children. Michael Williams graduated from Kennedy High School in 1976 thereafter attending Tuskegee Institute and then graduated with a bachelor’s and 1982 it is there he also met his wife the Lake Eva Griffith Williams. Michael A. Williams worked for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, in Portsmouth, Virginia for 33 years. He began his civil service career as a Physical Science Technician in the RADCON Department and worked the past 14 years as an Environmental Protection Specialist in the Environment Branch. He could always be counted on to be authentic and straight forward, unapologetically. He was a “What you see is what you get”
type of guy that didn’t believe in making excuses.
He leaves behind a high standard of excellence regarding his work, taking great pride in the work carrying his name. He leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters Janee and Amber Williams; brothers, Langley Williams and Haywood Williams; 12 grandkids and a host nieces nephews great nephews great-nieces and friends He is predeceased by his parents, Ola Mae Jennings Williams and Haywood Williams; his brother, Bernard Williams; and his sister, Cynthia Williams.
